The Ghana Police Service has issued a notice to hold the organisers of the ‘Enough is Enough’ demonstration accountable for any irregularities during the protest. The Police stated that all responsibilities and necessary precautions have been communicated to the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), urging both the party and its supporters to strictly follow these guidelines. The NDC’s ‘Enough is Enough’ protest is directed at the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
The Police Service has provided detailed guidelines for the demonstration, which will be held across all 16 regions of Ghana. The main demand of the protest is for a forensic audit of the 2024 electoral register. The Police emphasized that they will ensure the peaceful and lawful conduct of the protests, with demonstrators required to adhere to designated routes and timelines.
The NDC believes the current voter register for the 2024 elections is riddled with inaccuracies and possibly inflated to benefit a political party. Despite the Electoral Commission’s denial of these claims—citing investigations that have confirmed the register’s credibility—the NDC remains firm in its demand for an immediate audit to safeguard transparency and public trust in the electoral process. The protest routes have been communicated, and the Police have assured that sufficient security will be in place to ensure a smooth and peaceful demonstration.
Below are the approved routes for all the regions:
