Hezbollah has launched a barrage of rockets into Israel, claiming to target Israeli military positions. According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), around 140 missiles were fired at various locations across the country.
In response, the Israeli military has carried out new airstrikes in southern Lebanon, focusing on Hezbollah positions. These strikes follow an earlier offensive by Israel aimed at destroying Hezbollah’s rocket launchers in the region.
Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, has pledged retaliation following a series of explosions involving the group’s communication equipment, which resulted in the deaths of over 30 people and left thousands injured earlier in the week.
The United Nations Security Council is set to convene on Friday to address the escalating conflict.
