GNAT demands urgent stakeholder meeting to address indiscipline in schools

An urgent multi-stakeholder meeting has been requested by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) to address the rising levels of indiscipline in senior high schools. Thomas Tanko Musah, the general secretary of GNAT, thinks that the loss of morality, conscience, and value system in schools is a serious concern that requires quick attention.

As an organisation, GNAT expresses concern about some pupils’ level of confidence and indiscipline, comparing it to the current state of galamsey practice in the nation. In order to find a long-term solution to the growing problem, it demands that the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, the Parent-Teacher Association, and other organisations conduct an urgent meeting. He made these comments in response to the death of an O’Reilly Senior High School senior.
