Nicolas Jackson struck twice to inspire Chelsea to a dominant win over a sluggish West Ham side, handing the Hammers their third consecutive Premier League defeat at home.
Chelsea took the lead just four minutes into the game when West Ham’s defense switched off during a quick free-kick. Jadon Sancho took full advantage, playing a through ball to Jackson on the left wing. The Senegalese forward raced past Edson Alvarez and slotted a low shot through the legs of goalkeeper Alphonse Areola to open the scoring.
West Ham’s defensive woes continued in the 18th minute as Moises Caicedo, with too much space, sent another perfectly timed pass to Jackson. This time, Jackson outpaced Max Kilman and finished with a stylish flick using the outside of his boot, leaving Areola stranded.
Chelsea all but secured the three points shortly after the break. A rapid counterattack saw Jackson turn provider, delivering a clever reverse pass that caught West Ham’s defense off guard. Cole Palmer finished the move with a powerful strike beyond Areola to make it 3-0.
West Ham had moments of frustration, particularly when a strong penalty shout was waved away by VAR after Crysencio Summerville went down under pressure from Wesley Fofana. Mohammed Kudus had the ball in the net just before halftime, but it was ruled out for offside, while Jarrod Bowen forced Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, into a sharp save in the second half.
The victory moves Chelsea within two points of Premier League leaders Manchester City, while West Ham languishes in the bottom half of the table, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
