Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), sought partnerships with India for business

One of Ghana’s most significant conglomerates, Jospong Group of Companies (JGC), sought partnerships with India for business during the 19th edition of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) India-Africa Business Conclave 2024. It was held in New Delhi starting from the August 20th to the 22nd of 2024. The summit organized under the theme ‘Creating One Future’ was aimed at strengthening economic engagement between India and Africa; JGC sought to identify potential partnerships that may fuel growth and development in both regions.

The Head of Delegation and Chief Investment Officer, Noah Gyimah, emphasised the importance of Ghana-India partnerships, stating, “Our participation demonstrates our commitment to building strong, lasting relationships with Indian counterparts.”

The Jospong delegation engaged in high-level discussions with Indian counterparts, exploring avenues for collaboration across various sectors. As Gold Sponsors, the Group hosted an exhibition showcasing its achievements across all areas of operation.

The Jospong Group of Companies (JGC)’s communications manager, Strive Kakraba, emphasized that the Group’s participation at the 19th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) India-Africa Business Conclave 2024 demonstrated its strategic aim to expand its activities outside of Ghana. JGC hopes to increase its influence in a number of industries by utilizing India’s technological innovations and industrial know-how.

The JGC group had fruitful conversations at the summit with Indian businesses that specialize in waste management, water, sanitation, renewable energy, and agriculture—sector areas in which Jospong already has a significant presence. The aim of these discussions was to find joint opportunities that could promote sustainable development in Ghana and other African countries.

Jospong’s participation is consistent with its long-term goal of being a key player in the economic development of Africa. The Group aims to present novel approaches to pressing problems in agriculture, sanitation, infrastructure, and environmental management.

The CII India-Africa Business Conclave provided Jospong with a valuable opportunity to showcase its strengths and solidify its role as a driving force for sustainable development between Ghana and India.

Mr. Jagdeep Dhankhar, the vice president of India, reaffirmed India’s commitment to funding infrastructure projects in Africa and stressed the value of education, training, and capacity-building. He emphasized how programs like India’s DFTP scheme and the AfCFTA have the potential to foster closer economic links and growth between the two countries.

With an emphasis on industries including agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing, and information technology, the CII India-Africa Business Conclave is acknowledged as a crucial platform for boosting trade, investment, and technological cooperation between India and Africa.
