The midfielder for Asante Kotoko, Justice Blay, has stated that he is open to extending his contract with the team as the upcoming Ghana Premier League season draws near. Blay is open to signing a new contract with the Porcupine Warriors, even though his current one expires in 2025. Known for his skill in the midfield, Blay moved into a defensive role the previous season.
When the club experimented with different player positions and encountered a variety of obstacles, he adjusted to this new duty. In preparation for the forthcoming season, Kotoko will play a number of exhibition games, one of which will be a friendly versus Medeama SC on Friday, August 16, 2024, to mark the opening of the new T and A Stadium.
After that, the squad will go to Washington, D.C., to play DC United in an international friendly. The opening game of the 2019 Ghana Premier League season between Kotoko and Karela United is scheduled for the first week of September. Blay is hoping for a season free of fitness concerns after dealing with injuries in the past. He is also keen to play a big part in the team’s success.
