Ghana international Kamaldeen Sulemana is reportedly close to signing a contract with Ajax Amsterdam in the Netherlands, according to football source Fabrizio Romano. The Italian football transfer guru revealed this on his X (formerly Twitter) profile while Sulemana recovers from his injury and waits to make his English Premier League debut in 2024–2025.
Romano claims that Ajax and Southampton have reached a verbal deal for the 22-year-old winger, who was formerly at Stade Rennes. Personal terms were being discussed at the time this article was written. The success of the transaction is reliant on the rumoured transfer of Ajax forward Steven Bergwijn to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League.
In the January transfer window of the 2022–2023 season, Sulemana left French Ligue 1 team Rennes to join Southampton. In his 18 English Premier League games, he has two goals and an assist. He played with The Saints in the EFL Championship during the 2023–2024 season.
Kamaldeen Sulemana would be joining Mohammed Kudus, a fellow Right To Dream Academy graduate who went from FC Norsdjaelland to Ajax before joining West Ham United, if he decides to move to Ajax.
