Gospel legend KODA to be laid to Rest on September 20

Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, the renowned gospel musician, and charismatic preacher, KODA will be buried on September 20, 2024. The funeral service is planned to be held at the KICC Dominion Centre at the Spintex Road near the Coca-Cola Roundabout in Accra. Friends are encouraged to wear white apparel for the event.

KODA succumbed to the cold hands of death on Sunday, 24 April, at the youthful age of 45 years. His fame placed him among the most revered artists in the Ghana contemporary gospel music genre. KODA, a multiple award-winning artist, was very passionate and active in spreading the gospel; he played a role as a producer for many artists and contributed to the setting of their music’s direction.

In his lifetime, KODA composed songs for famous artists including the late Danny Nettey, Ps. Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Halal Afrika, Eugene Zuta and others. He has three studio albums, two live albums, and two albums that are mainly instrumental/jazz albums. Another vocal album ‘Keteke’, was his sixth gospel music album that continued his tradition of producing impactful music.

KODA as he is widely referred to in the entertainment industry was famous for his gospel hits such as “Nkwaa Abodo,” “Nsem Pii,” “Adooso,” and “Hossana,” which today remains instrumental in the development of gospel music in Ghana.
