The campaign team for Suhum Constituency Member of Parliament, Kwadjo Asante, popularly known as “Boafo,” has dismissed claims that he plans to step down as an independent candidate in the upcoming race for the Suhum seat.
Rumors about his withdrawal gained traction after a photo of him with the Majority Leader circulated online, following the Speaker of Parliament’s indefinite adjournment of parliamentary sittings.
In an interview, Samuel Baah Gosh, the spokesperson for the Kwadjo Asante campaign team, firmly denied these rumors, confirming that the MP remains committed to running as an independent candidate.
However, some of Asante’s more passionate supporters expressed anger over the rumors, even threatening to take extreme action if he withdraws from the race. Despite the tension, Kwadjo Asante remains resolute in his decision to contest as an independent candidate for the Suhum seat.
