Mulch Company Limited has announced the permanent closure of the Legon Botanical Gardens, effective October 30, 2024.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, October 11, the Dutch firm made the surprise announcement, though no specific reason was provided for the closure. The post stirred reactions and raised questions among users.
“We are closing the Legon Botanical Gardens on October 30, 2024. Over the years, we’ve brought smiles to countless faces, and we’re grateful for the support. Legon Botanical Gardens was a wonderful chapter. Stay connected with Mulch Company Ltd,” the message read.
For years, Mulch Company has operated the gardens through a public-private partnership (PPP) with the University of Ghana. Under their leadership, the Legon Botanical Gardens evolved into a renowned ecopark, attracting both Ghanaians and international visitors alike.
