Delta Air Lines is delighted to announce the appointment of Mary Gbobaniyi as the new Manager of Sales for West Africa, effective immediately. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Mary will manage Delta’s sales and commercial activities across West Africa, covering key markets such as Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal. In addition, she will support Delta’s joint venture partners, including Air France KLM and Virgin Atlantic.
Mary brings extensive industry experience to Delta, having served as Sales Manager for Nigeria at Emirates for nine years. Prior to her role at Emirates, she spent six years with Lufthansa German Airlines, where she advanced to the position of Regional Manager for Key Accounts. Her rich experience in sales and management, along with her deep understanding of the aviation industry, makes her a valuable asset to Delta’s team in West Africa.
Manoj Kuraikose, Delta’s General Manager Sales, Middle East, Africa, and India (MEAI) remarked on Mary’s appointment, stating, “I am excited to have her on board and look forward to the experience and knowledge she will bring to our already amazing team”.
Mary holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Business Information Technology and Marketing from London Metropolitan University and a GNVQ Advanced in Business Studies from Westminster Kingsway College, London.
On a personal note, Mary is married with two children, ages 10 and 8. In her spare time, she enjoys singing in her church choir, reflecting her passion for music.
