The 2024 National Maulid, organized annually by the National Chief Imam, will take place today, October 5, 2024, at the Sharubutu Astro Turf in Fadama, celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad. This year’s theme is “Fostering Peace During and After Election 2024.”
Maulid, a significant event in the Islamic calendar, commemorates the birth of the Prophet and is traditionally observed on 12 Rabi’ al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic year. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu has been honoring this occasion for over sixty years.
The event serves to highlight the exemplary life and values of the Prophet Muhammad, reminding Muslims of the importance of emulating these principles, which include love and unity among one another.
