Residents of Koforidua in the Eastern Region were deeply disturbed following the discovery of a newborn’s body in a gutter close to St. Joseph Hospital.
The infant, believed to have been abandoned shortly after birth, was found wrapped in polythene before being discarded into the drain. A video shared by Ghana Crimes Ltd on X captured the tragic scene, which has sparked widespread concern and sorrow among locals.
Many community members suspect that the mother might be from the surrounding area. The police have been alerted and have retrieved the body, initiating investigations to determine who is responsible and to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
