According to information supplied by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), healthcare providers in the nation have received an additional GHC151 million. This is stated in a Press release dated August 17 and signed by the Ag. Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Da-Costa Aboagye.
The press release explained “This disbursement is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the sustainability and efficiency of healthcare delivery under the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). This funding is aimed at settling outstanding claims of up to March 2024 for the higher tier healthcare providers and April2024 for majority of our clients at the lower tier facilities,” the press release explained.
It promised that in order to address any issues and move towards a cost-effective and sustainable healthcare system, the NHIA will keep in contact with interested parties.
