The nomination forms for the impending elections on December 7th have been successfully submitted by Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, the head of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Janet Nabla, the flagbearer of the People’s National Party (PNP), and Akua Donkor, the leader of the GFP. The three ladies, who are well-known for their audacious and vocal political positions, showed up at the Electoral Commission (EC) headquarters on Thursday in order to finish the required paperwork.
Presenting her files to EC Chairperson Jean Mensa during the submission, Akua Donkor reaffirmed her commitment to standing out for the issues faced by common Ghanaians and bringing about significant change. Ms. Nabla applauded the EC for lowering the barrier to running for office for women, but she encouraged it to digitise the application process to eliminate the stress that candidates face.
According to Ms. Kumankumah, the CPP was returning with plans to end poverty and instill optimism in Ghanaians. Their nomination files have been submitted, indicating that they are prepared to run in the elections and that they are committed to providing a different perspective from the main political parties.
