NPP Plans To Engage Cynthia Morrison, the former Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection following her announcement to compete as an independent Candidate for the Agona West seat in the general election of 2024. Justin Kodua Frimpong, the general secretary of the NPP, emphasised the party’s commitment to unity and its goal to “break the eight,” which alludes to extending its control over the customary two-term limit.
After losing the NPP parliamentary primaries, Cynthia Morrison, the current Member of Parliament for Agona West, announced her candidature as an independent. “God willing, I will be contesting the parliamentary election as an independent candidate,” she said in an address to her constituents.
In spite of the initial loss, Morrison called on her followers to support her independent bid and reiterated her dedication to the advancement of Agona West. Kodua Frimpong underlined in an interview the NPP’s emphasis on unity and its attempts to reintegrate all members, including those who are thinking about running for office on their own. “What we want to do is get everyone on board, and the party leadership will keep talking to her,” he stated.
