Obuasi West NDC PC promises fund to support widows

Faustilove Appiah Kennin, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Obuasi West, has laid out an ambitious plan to support widows and students in the constituency if she wins in the upcoming general elections. Speaking at her campaign launch in Obuasi Zongo, she emphasized her commitment to addressing key social challenges, including poverty and education.

Faustilove pledged to establish a special fund aimed at providing financial assistance to widows facing economic hardship. She acknowledged the struggles many widows experience in the current difficult economic climate and expressed her desire to help them regain their financial footing and support their families.

In addition to helping widows, the candidate also introduced an educational initiative titled “Obaa Naa Free Vacation Classes.” This program would provide free academic sessions for students during school holidays, especially targeting those whose families cannot afford additional tuition. Faustilove underscored the importance of education in her campaign, stating that her goal is to create better learning opportunities for the youth in Obuasi West.

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, Nana Akwasi, was in attendance at the event and praised Faustilove’s plans. He urged the people of Obuasi West to rally behind her and former President John Mahama in the upcoming elections, promising that an NDC-led government would focus on development, particularly in improving the welfare of women and children.
