Otto Addo has unveiled a 23-man squad for the upcoming 2025 AFCON QUALIFIERS

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has named a 23-man team list for the Total Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers matches against Angola and Niger 2025. Ghana is scheduled to host Angola on September 5 at the Baba Yara Stadium before switching to Morocco to tussle with Niger on September 9.

This will be the first time the senior national team trains since the back-to-back wins against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in June. The squad is expected to assemble on Monday, September 2, 2024, just a few days before the AFCON qualifiers which will be staged in Kumasi on September 5, and Berkane on September 10.

The set list of Otto Addo is quite familiar with previous call-ups with stars like Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, Lawrence Ati Zigi and Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. Furthermore, there are rejoins; Inaki Williams and Majeed Ashimeru who were not available for the previous matches. Frederick Asare of Asante Kotoko is the only local-based player to gain a place among the selected players.

Nevertheless, striking midfielder and team captain Andre Ayew, and defender Daniel Amartey have been left of the squad for these matches.
