Ghana’s coach Otto Addo and his assistants were involved in a terrible auto accident but fortunately no one was severely injured.
Ghana Football Association GFA officially acknowledged the news on Sunday, where speculations reported that Addo, John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda were involved in an accident.
The three coaches were coming from Tarkwa where they had gone to watch the Champion of Champions match between Samartex and Nsoatreman which Samartex emerged winners 1-0 on tantor to the start of the new season.
However, before they could reach Accra they were met by a major road accident that befell the former Dortmund assistant coach and his team.
The GFA statement explained that the Black Stars technical team’s “vehicle avoided a head-on collision with a pickup truck which veered off into its lane, causing some damage to the vehicle.”
However, the trio is expected to be back for African Cup of Nations qualifying matches in the near future. Ghana is therefore expected to play Angola at the Kumasi on Thursday September 5 before proceeding to Morocco to play Niger in the second match.
