Telegram’s co-founder and CEO, Pavel Durov, has recently sparked widespread attention with his surprising claim of fathering over a hundred children across 12 countries. Durov, who has previously donated sperm to help people struggling with fertility issues, is now at the center of a new initiative by Altravita, a clinic in Moscow, offering free IVF treatment for women who choose to use his sperm.
Altravita announced that they are providing this “one-of-a-kind opportunity,” allowing women to undergo IVF without charge if they choose Durov’s donated sperm and meet specific criteria. The clinic’s website promotes this initiative by emphasizing Durov’s role as “one of the most famous and successful entrepreneurs,” with limited slots available. According to the clinic, the Telegram CEO is financing the IVF procedures himself, aiming to support those who want to start families. However, Durov has only linked to the clinic’s website on his Telegram channel without commenting directly on the free treatment.
The requirements for participating in this IVF program are strict. Eligible women must be 37 years or younger, and their health must meet satisfactory standards, as evaluated by Altravita’s reproductive health specialists. Altravita also claimed exclusive rights to store and utilize Durov’s biomaterial, underscoring the unique nature of this offering.
Durov’s journey as a sperm donor reportedly began when a friend approached him about donating sperm due to the friend’s fertility challenges. Although initially taken aback, Durov ultimately agreed and was later told by the clinic that he was considered a high-quality donor. Since then, he has continued to make donations, eventually leading to the current initiative with Altravita.
