I don’t care who wins the 2024 Elections as long as the country has peace – Kennedy Agyapong
Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, has expressed indifference over which candidate or political party wins the upcoming general elections in December, emphasizing that the country’s peace is far more important than any electoral outcome. Speaking to the media on November 7, 2024, following the indefinite suspension of parliamentary business by the Speaker, Agyapong stated, “I personally don’t care who wins as long as we have a peaceful country where you can breathe.”
The outspoken MP also commented on the ongoing standoff in Parliament over the Majority seats, warning that the current political impasse could pose a threat to the country’s democracy if not resolved. He voiced his deep concern over the potential for chaos and violence, expressing his disappointment at the recent tensions between the NPP and NDC caucuses in Parliament. “This is why I don’t preach for war. Otherwise, I would have encouraged what’s going on, but what will be the fate of the country?” he asked.
Agyapong’s remarks reflect his belief that maintaining peace in Ghana should take precedence over political rivalries and the outcome of the elections.
