Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey celebrated a major milestone in his career, making his 100th Premier League appearance during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium. Starting for Mikel Arteta’s side, Partey played a key role in helping the Gunners secure a valuable point against the reigning champions.
Remarkably, Partey’s 100th league match was against the same Manchester City side he faced in his Premier League debut back in October 2020, shortly after his transfer from Atletico Madrid. Over his 100 league games, the 30-year-old has contributed six goals and three assists, with a notable strike in the north London derby against Tottenham in 2022 being a highlight of his Arsenal career.
Last month, Partey added to his tally with a goal against Aston Villa, marking his first since Arsenal’s dramatic win over Bournemouth in March 2023. In total, he has made 120 appearances for Arsenal, with both his 50th and 100th games for the club coming coincidentally against Manchester City.
The Ghana international has now reached 300 league appearances across his career, having previously played 200 matches in Spain’s La Liga and La Liga B with Real Mallorca, Almeria, and Atletico Madrid.
With Partey entering the final year of his contract at Arsenal, there is growing speculation about his future, with Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and Barcelona reportedly monitoring his situation ahead of next summer’s transfer window.
