The Presidential Primaries of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has been rescheduled once more, with a new date of Saturday, September 7. This is the second time that the event has been rescheduled. On December 7, the party’s flagbearer and national executives will be chosen. The congress was originally scheduled for Saturday, August 24, but it was moved to Saturday, August 31. The event is now one week later due to the most recent delay.
A statement issued on Friday, August 30 stated “Following a National Executive Committee meeting held today 30th August, 2024 at the Headquarters in Accra, a decision was taken to postpone the National Delegates Congress to September 7th, 2024, Members, supporters, sympathizers and the general public and most especially aspirants are entreated to take note of this new development and comply or act accordingly,”.
The party has rescheduled as it continues to get ready for the momentous occasion, which will likely determine its leadership and electoral strategy in December. The PNC is still dedicated to organising a successful congress that will determine its future political course, even with the modifications to the schedule.
