Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe is set to miss upcoming matches due to a thigh injury. The French international, who joined the Spanish giants this summer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, was forced off during Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory over Deportivo Alaves on Tuesday, where he scored before being substituted in the 80th minute.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti provided some reassurance after the match, stating: “He’s doing okay, just a bit fatigued. He asked to come off to prevent any further issues.” However, further tests conducted on Wednesday confirmed the 25-year-old has sustained an injury to his left thigh’s biceps femoris muscle. The club indicated that his recovery will be closely monitored.
With Real Madrid facing a challenging set of fixtures, including a league clash against Atletico Madrid this Sunday, followed by a Champions League tie against Lille and another league match against Villarreal, Mbappe’s absence will be keenly felt. Before his injury, Mbappe had been in stellar form, netting six goals in seven appearances for the club. His availability for the October international break remains uncertain.
