Release provisional voter’s register before exhibition exercise – Mahama to EC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for 2024, John Dramani Mahama, has issued a warning to the potential Komenda Sugar Factory buyer to refrain from doing any opaque business with the current administration.

John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer for 2024, is pleading with the Electoral Commission to release the provisional voter registration as soon as possible in order to facilitate the impending exhibition exercise. He claims that since July, the Commission has asked political parties to submit their external drives for the register, but they still haven’t done so.

On the last day of his campaign swing in the Volta Region, Mr. Mahama made this call, emphasising that political parties were still awaiting the registration.

“I am calling on the Electoral Commission to make sure that we get the hard drives with the provisional register today so that we can send them to the constituencies and let our executives start helping our people to check and make sure their names is there.”

Prior to the start of the exhibition activity, Dr. Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), also demanded that the Electoral Commission (EC) make available to all political parties the provisional voter register for the general elections scheduled for December 7.

On August 14, Dr. Boamah accused the EC of being incompetent and said in a Facebook post that the delay was an intentional ploy to provide political parties a subpar registration.
