Ralph St. Williams, known as ‘Fellow Ghanaians’ and a member of the FixTheCountry movement, has been released following his arrest at Kotoka International Airport. His discharge occurred on Thursday night, as reported by Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Constitutional Rights and Policy Advisor for the Democracy Hub.
Barker-Vormawor revealed that individuals in security uniforms raided the homes of Fellow Ghanaians’ parents, confiscating their mobile devices and forcing the family to relocate for safety. The Democracy Hub has since filed a petition with the Inspector General of Police (IGP).
Williams was apprehended while traveling to Kumasi for the Hub’s SayNoToGalamsey protest scheduled for September 21, aimed at addressing illegal mining. The police have not provided details regarding his arrest, but the group views it as an attempt to disrupt their protest efforts.
