Religious Leaders Brave Rains in Kumasi to Call for Transparent and Peaceful 2024 Elections

Religious leaders in the Ashanti Region braved heavy rains on Tuesday morning to participate in a peace march advocating for a transparent and peaceful 2024 election. Marching through the streets of Kumasi, they later submitted a petition to the Electoral Commission, calling for fairness and transparency in the election process.

Christian, Muslim, and other religious leaders united in urging the Electoral Commission to carry out its duties impartially in the lead-up to the 2024 elections. Reverend Dr. Enoch Kwabena Nketiah, Convener of the Coalition of Muslim and Christian Clergy, affirmed the religious community’s commitment to supporting the Commission through prayer for a successful election.

The clergy also plan to engage political parties on the matter. Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Francis Osei Nsiah, reassured the group that the Commission would ensure credible elections. This pledge coincides with a historic Inter-Party Advisory Committee meeting, where political parties and other stakeholders, including the media, were involved.
