Dancehall musician Stonebwoy has counseled people against becoming parents too soon. In an interview with Ghana Television, Stonebwoy addressed the significance of being completely ready before assuming parental duties.
He stated “Being responsible to them and making sure that these ones are taken care of till the time that they can take care of themselves. Sometimes when me and my wife speak I’m like there are two things that nobody should rush into. Becoming a dad and also becoming a family person.
These are the highest levels and in as much as it’s like a study on the job, nobody should rush anybody. We find that in society. Why are you not married? Why don’t you have kids? I feel like that pressure is not good.
There are many daddies and mummies who are not daddies and mummies. You’ll find out children giving birth to children. So I respect the fact that children that you can emulate or a mother than is a real mother that is how I see daddy and fatherhood,”
He believes that one should only embrace genuine family life and parenthood when they are truly ready for the obligations that go along with it.
