The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), in partnership with the University of Ghana’s Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS), hosted a dissemination event to present key insights from two newly released publications.
The first publication, titled the 2021 Population and Housing Census Thematic Report on Population Projections (2021 – 2050), offers population projections broken down by sex, age, and type of locality, aimed at supporting informed decision-making. The second publication is the 2024 revision of the World Population Prospects, a flagship report from the UN Population Division that provides essential population data for planning purposes.
The primary goal of the event was to explore the policy implications of these population projections and to raise awareness about the available statistics, encouraging their use in policy formulation, research, and educational purposes.
