Kudus charged with violent misconduct for fighting with Tottenham players
West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus has been charged by the Football Association (FA) following his actions during the team’s loss to Tottenham Hotspur on October 19, 2024. The FA’s statement, released on October 22, accuses Kudus of improper conduct and/or using violent behavior during the match.
According to the FA, “Mohammed Kudus allegedly acted in an improper manner and/or used violent conduct after the offense that led to his red card.” West Ham has also been charged for failing to control their players, as has Tottenham for their actions during the game.
Kudus received a straight red card for kicking Van de Ven and slapping Pape Matar Sarr, which means he will miss upcoming matches against Manchester United, Nottingham Forest, and Everton.
In the match, Kudus initially gave West Ham a great start by scoring after connecting with a cross from Jarrod Bowen. However, Tottenham equalized with a goal from Dejan Kulusevski, assisted by James Maddison. Yves Bissouma then put Tottenham ahead, followed by an own goal from Alphonse Areola and a goal from Son, sealing West Ham’s defeat.
Former Premier League referee Mike Dean believes Kudus could face even more bans for his actions, suggesting that he might have been sent off for his first incident alone and that the FA could extend his suspension.
