The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, in partnership with the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has suspended the operations of the La Traditional Council, effective from September 26, 2024.
This suspension aims to provide time for the Regional House and the Ministry to implement necessary measures to ensure the smooth operation of the Council.
As a result, all government institutions have been instructed to cease interactions with any individuals claiming to represent the La Traditional Council.
Furthermore, any issues concerning Paramount Stool Land are to be put on hold until further notice, or until a new La Mantse is installed, in accordance with section 45 of the Chieftaincy Act.
