As of October 22, 2024, the UK visa application services in Ghana have switched from TLScontact to VFS Global, the new outsourcing partner. This change aims to improve the visa application process with faster biometric and application submission times. All applicants in Ghana, even those who began their application with TLScontact, are now required to complete the process with VFS Global.
The new visa application center is located at the Mezzanine Floor, Grand Oyeeman Building, South Liberation Link in Accra. The switch is part of broader efforts by the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) to streamline services through third-party providers globally.
The current TLScontact center will close on November 15, 2024. After this date, visa applications will be handled exclusively by VFS Global, and pending applications at the TLScontact center will be securely transferred. Although the service provider has changed, the UK government has assured that visa processing times, decisions, and fees will remain unaffected.
The transition is expected to bring improved services, including shorter passport collection times (approximately 20 minutes) and clearer information to distinguish between free and paid services. Applicants will be notified via email if the change affects them directly.
