Virgin Atlantic will once again offer daily flights from Accra to London Heathrow, Beginning in May 2025, marking the airline’s return to Ghana. The airline is operating this route for the first time since 2013, with the goal of giving passengers the much-needed competition and variety. With the third-largest Ghanaian diaspora in the world residing in the UK, the new service is intended to satisfy the increasing demand for travel between Ghana and the country.
Additionally advantageous to passengers are links to Virgin Atlantic’s vast US route network via London, which includes stops in New York, Boston, Washington, DC, Miami, and Los Angeles. The daily flights will be run using a combination of Airbus A330-300 and A330-900neo aircraft starting on May 1, 2025. Along with an onboard social area, these aircraft will have Virgin Atlantic’s Upper Class, Premium, Economy Delight, Classic, and Light cabins.
With the airline providing 30 tonnes of capacity every trip for commodities like fresh fruit between Ghana and important markets in the US and the UK, the route is also anticipated to be a robust cargo corridor. This was disclosed by Virgin Atlantic in a statement that was made public on Monday, September 2. Virgin Atlantic is well-known for its creativity and first-rate customer service. The airline provides three distinct cabin classes, each offering a distinctive experience, and is a member of the worldwide Skyteam alliance. Free food and drink, more than 300 hours of entertainment, and a fleet with fully functional Wi-Fi are all available to passengers.
Fully flat beds, a special security route at London Heathrow, entry to the Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, and a Revivals lounge are among the perks enjoyed by Upper-Class passengers. Virgin Atlantic has a five-star rating from SkyTrax and was named Britain’s only Global Five Star Airline by APEX for the eighth year running in 2024.
