Government allocates GH₵50m to WAEC for upcoming examinations

The government of Ghana has allocated financial resources to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to facilitate the future administration of the BECE and WASSCE exams. This funding underscores the government’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities to WAEC, ensuring the smooth and effective execution of these crucial examinations.

In a press statement released on Thursday, 29th August 2024, the Ministry of Education reiterated its commitment towards offering sound and stable student support in Ghana. The disbursed funds will cater for the various logistics and operational expenses that need to be incurred for the smooth holding of the BECE and WASSCE exams.

The statement read “We wish to reassure all stakeholders, especially students, parents, guardians, and the general public, of our dedication to sustaining an environment that fosters seamless, efficient, and high-quality education for all Ghanaian students,” the statement read.
