Williams, enjoying a strong season, was pivotal in Athletic’s dominant display. He struck twice in the first half, putting the game out of Espanyol’s reach early on. His first goal came in the 22nd minute, finishing a well-orchestrated play involving Álex Berenguer with a composed finish from close range. Just two minutes later, his brother, Nico Williams, sliced through the Espanyol defense, delivering a precise pass for Inaki to finish at the near post, securing a comfortable 2-0 lead.
Even without their top scorer, Oihan Sancet, Athletic Club maintained their sharpness, continuously threatening Espanyol’s defense. Berenguer added a fourth goal early in the second half, sealing an impressive performance for Los Leones.
