The Eastern Regional Minister, Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has reiterated the government’s dedication to delivering essential services, particularly in the areas of potable water, quality education, and healthcare.
Speaking to the media after officially assuming office, Mrs. Adjei Awatey highlighted these sectors as key pillars for the region’s development and pledged to work diligently to improve infrastructure and enhance social services to uplift the living standards of residents.
At a formal ceremony, the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council (ERCC) welcomed her into office, where she assured stakeholders of her commitment to fostering progress, good governance, and meaningful transformation.
Outlining her priorities, she emphasized a focus on expanding access to education, strengthening healthcare systems, improving infrastructure, and creating employment opportunities for the youth.
She also underscored the NDC government’s plans for infrastructure development, including investments in modern water treatment plants, schools, and healthcare facilities to promote sustainable human capital growth.
Beyond these initiatives, Mrs. Adjei Awatey vowed to take decisive action against illegal mining, which poses a significant threat to water bodies and forest reserves in the region.
Additionally, she pledged to bolster security measures to curb crime and create a safer environment for all residents.
She assured that her leadership would be characterized by inclusivity and collaboration, working closely with all stakeholders to drive the Eastern Region’s development agenda forward.
