Ghanaians across the country are currently facing intermittent power outages due to technical difficulties at the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant in Atuabo. In a joint statement, the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) explained that a disruption in the gas supply, critical for power generation, has negatively affected the national electricity grid.
This issue has led to periodic power interruptions in several regions, leaving many without consistent electricity. The utility companies have extended their apologies for the inconvenience and reassured the public that engineers from GNGC are working tirelessly to resolve the problem and restore normal gas supply.
Both GRIDCo and ECG stated that they are closely monitoring the situation, expressing optimism that power supply will stabilize once the technical challenges at the Atuabo facility are fully resolved.
