President John Mahama has directed the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to launch an immediate investigation into corruption cases identified in the report submitted by the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee.
The directive came on Monday after President Mahama formally received the report, which documents 2,417 complaints, for onward transmission to Dr. Ayine.
The committee’s chairman, North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, led the delegation to present the findings at the Jubilee House.
Praising the committee’s work, President Mahama described the report as a turning point in Ghana’s fight against corruption.
“I have handed over the report to the Attorney-General to begin investigations without delay. Every case will be thoroughly examined, and where prosecution is necessary, it will proceed without fear or favor,” he assured.
He further emphasized that any funds recovered from the operation would be reinvested in national development, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to stamping out corruption.
“This report highlights the significant financial losses our country has suffered—resources that should have been directed towards education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social services. However, it also offers hope that through collective action, we can recover what has been lost and prevent future economic mismanagement,” he stated.
