Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has commended his team’s Performance

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised his players for their resilience and mental toughness following a crucial 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars in the Ghana Premier League.

The match, held on Sunday at the formidable Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa, marked a turning point for the Porcupine Warriors, who ended a four-game losing streak with the win. The result propelled Kotoko to 7th place on the league table with 18 points and restored much-needed confidence to the squad.

Speaking after the match, Coach Ogum highlighted the significance of his team’s mindset in securing the win, emphasizing that mental strength played a bigger role than tactical planning.

“This victory is about self-belief and determination,” he said. “Playing in Dormaa isn’t so much about tactics; it’s about the confidence, determination, and composure of the team. Calmness was key for us in this aggressive environment.”

Ogum noted that keeping a cool head was essential to overcoming the challenging atmosphere at Aduana’s home ground.

“We remained composed throughout the game. I know this venue can be very intense, and matching aggression with aggression doesn’t work here,” he added.

Buoyed by this morale-boosting performance, Asante Kotoko now turns their attention to their highly anticipated Matchday 13 clash against arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
