The latest Afrobarometer Report from the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) reveals that 82% of Ghanaians surveyed feel the country is headed in the wrong direction, a slight improvement from 87% in 2023.
Titled “Citizens’ Policy Priorities, Economic Conditions, and Government Performance: Highlights from Afrobarometer Round 10 Survey in Ghana,” the report, released on October 31, shows only 15% of respondents believe Ghana is moving in the right direction.
Key findings in the Report include 85% of Ghanaians support the continuation of the free Senior High School (SHS) initiative, while 80% want the cancellation of the e-levy. The report also indicates that 82% of participants have experienced some form of poverty, with unemployment being a top concern, alongside difficulties in accessing basic services. The Afrobarometer is a non-partisan research network aimed at amplifying African voices in policy and decision-making.
