SWAG unveils New Office at Accra Sports Stadium

Accra Sports Stadium on Friday hosted the unveiling ceremony for the new office of the Sportswriters Association of Ghana (SWAG). The event brought together prominent figures from the sports community, including heads of sporting federations and other distinguished guests.

The newly renovated office, generously provided by the National Sports Authority (NSA), has been upgraded into a modern workspace for SWAG. Majeed Bawah, Deputy Director General of the NSA, spoke about the enduring partnership between the NSA and SWAG, emphasizing the authority’s commitment to supporting sports organizations.

“We have been accommodating the association for a very long time, and we see it as an obligation to house them. Not only SWAG but all federations if we have the capacity. We will do that so that while we are together, we can work together, share common problems, celebrate our achievements, and move sports forward,” said Bawah.

Kwabena Yeboah, President of SWAG, praised sportswriters’ efforts and their cooperation with sports officials, and thanked the NSA for its ongoing support.

During the ceremony, appreciation medals were awarded to several key individuals for their significant contributions to the association. Honorees included former Deputy Minister of Sports Joe Aggrey, veteran journalist Ebo Quansah, GHALCA chairman Kudjoe Fianoo, and Chief Patron of SWAG, His Excellency Amarkai Amarteifio.
