Nollywood star Timini Egbuson has shared his thoughts on the evolving dynamics of modern relationships, raising concerns over the increasing tendency to equate love with financial spending.
In a recent interview with TVC, Egbuson highlighted how this trend has particularly impacted the dating experiences of financially successful men. According to him, many women now measure a man’s affection by how much he is willing to spend on them—an approach he believes is deeply flawed.
He explained that wealthy men often engage in extravagant spending, not necessarily as a sign of love, but simply because they can.
“Some men appear nonchalant in relationships because they have a lot of options,” he said. “Once you have money, many women become accessible to you. And that’s largely because dating has been monetized.”
Egbuson further emphasized that some women mistakenly see grand gestures as proof of genuine love, when in reality, a billionaire can afford to extend the same generosity to multiple women without any real emotional attachment.
Given these complexities, the actor admitted that he has chosen to remain single for now, describing today’s dating scene as “stressful and difficult to navigate.”
