President Mahama has since ordered a probe into the unfortunate incident.

Academic activities at the AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Schools in Obuasi are now set to resume on Monday, January 27, 2025.

The reopening, initially scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, has been postponed. According to a statement from the school’s management, the decision was made after careful deliberations to ensure a calm and safe environment for students, staff, and stakeholders.

“Management is continuing broader consultations with relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone upon reopening,” the statement noted.

The two institutions, Williams and Brew School, will both resume operations on the new date. Management assured parents and guardians that measures would be taken to compensate for the time lost.

“To address the lost contact hours, especially for candidates preparing for the Cambridge IGCSE, Checkpoint Examinations, and the 2025 BECE, we will revise the academic calendar accordingly,” the statement added.

The announcement reflects the school’s commitment to maintaining a safe and productive learning environment while prioritizing the academic progress of its students.
