John Ansah has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) after securing a commanding win in Thursday’s elections held at the GHALCA Secretariat at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The former Vice Chairman of GHALCA garnered 95 votes, defeating his opponent Isaac Wilberforce Koomson, who received 35 votes. Ansah’s victory signals the end of Kudjoe Fianoo’s extended tenure as chairman, paving the way for new leadership.

In the contest for Vice Chairperson, incumbent Phyllis Marku retained her position after defeating Nana Amankwaa Kwakye.

Ansah, who has served as a GHALCA executive member for three terms, promised to prioritize ethical governance, unity, and collaboration among members. He expressed his commitment to steering the association toward growth and success.

“I am honored by the trust you have placed in me,” Ansah said. “Together, we will work to advance GHALCA and strengthen Ghanaian football.”
