Kumawood actress and producer Vivian Jill has assured fans that the Kumawood film industry remains alive and active despite facing certain challenges.
In a recent interview that gained traction online, Vivian explained that the industry continues to produce movies, but coordinating the schedules of its top stars has become increasingly difficult.
“Right now, everyone is occupied. I’m about to begin a new project myself,” she said. “When you reach out to the actors, they are all busy. For instance, I recently worked on a project and tried contacting Nana Ama McBrown, but she was already engaged elsewhere. I also called Mathilda, and she was on set. Just last week, another actress couldn’t join because she was also tied up on set.”
Vivian dismissed claims that Kumawood is struggling, attributing the reduced visibility to the packed schedules of its actors. “There’s no problem with Kumawood or the industry itself. It’s just that everyone has a lot going on,” she clarified.
Looking ahead, Vivian expressed optimism for the industry’s future, revealing plans to launch a major project that will bring together top stars like Agya Koo and Lil Win.
“We’re working on getting everyone together for something significant. Kumawood is still here, and we’re ready to show that it’s thriving,” she added.
Her remarks come amid ongoing debates about the state of Kumawood, with critics pointing to challenges such as economic difficulties, lack of industry support, and even rumors of supernatural interference.
Vivian’s positive outlook serves as a beacon of hope for fans, reinforcing the message that Kumawood remains vibrant and poised for a resurgence.
