The current National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman of the party.
In a statement addressed to party executives, elders, patrons and members, Nana B said his decision is motivated by a deep sense of duty and a commitment to helping reposition the NPP ahead of the 2028 general elections.
According to him, his 26 years of active service within the party have equipped him with the experience and leadership skills needed to strengthen the NPP’s structures, reconnect with its grassroots and contribute to the party’s efforts to return to government.
“By the grace of God, and after twenty-six (26) years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he stated.
Nana B highlighted his long journey within the NPP, beginning as a polling station agent during the 2000 general elections in the then Manhyia Constituency before rising through various constituency, regional, student and national leadership positions.
His previous roles include serving as TESCON President at both the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Director of Events and Programmes of the National Youth Wing, National Youth Organiser, and Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
At the national level, he has served on the NPP’s National Communications Team, National Steering Committee, National Executive Committee and National Council.
He was also a member of the party’s 2020 Presidential Election Petition Legal Team, the 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams, as well as the Planning Committee for the 2025 National Delegates Conference.
Nana B said his ambition is founded on unity, renewal and a shared determination to rebuild the party for future electoral success.
“My aspiration is anchored on the belief that with unity of purpose and renewed determination, we can reposition our party for victory in the 2028 general elections,” he said.
He concluded by appealing to party members for their prayers, guidance and support as he seeks election as the next National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
