During their visit, the MPs engaged with victims and emphasized the urgent need for enhanced fire safety education, stricter enforcement of prevention measures, and improved fire response infrastructure. They highlighted the importance of installing more fire hydrants and ensuring better access for emergency services in major trading areas.

The MPs also pledged to work closely with stakeholders to develop policies aimed at sustainable urban development, economic resilience, and improved living conditions for Kumasi residents.

Speaking to the media, Francis Asenso-Boakye stressed the importance of proactive measures to protect lives and businesses.

“The Suame Magazine fire serves as a wake-up call. As representatives of the people, we are committed to collaborating with the necessary authorities to prevent such tragedies in the future. Fire safety education and strict regulatory enforcement must be prioritized to safeguard livelihoods,” he stated.
