The Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Jean-Michel Arlandis, has sadly passed away.

He died on Friday, February 7, 2025, in his hometown of Toulouse, France, while undergoing treatment for a short illness.

Vivo Energy Ghana confirmed his passing in an official statement, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of their leader.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Managing Director, Jean-Michel Arlandis,” the statement read.

Described as a visionary leader, Jean-Michel was known for his high standards and relentless pursuit of excellence, inspiring his teams to achieve remarkable success.

“Beyond his strong leadership, he was a man who truly enjoyed life and was deeply respected by all who had the privilege of working with him. His dedication and commitment left a lasting impact,” the company noted.

The statement further acknowledged the difficult moment for the entire Vivo Energy Ghana team as they mourn their leader, colleague, and friend.

“May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Forever in our hearts,” it concluded.

Jean-Michel Arlandis: A Legacy of Leadership

With over 30 years of experience in the energy and retail sector, Jean-Michel possessed extensive knowledge of African markets and emerging economies.

Before taking the helm at Vivo Energy Ghana, he served as the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Malawi, where he successfully repositioned the company as a top oil marketing brand in the country.

His career spanned diverse leadership roles, including:

  • Head of Internal Audit at Decathlon, a globally recognized sporting brand.
  • Partner at Deloitte and Ernst & Young.
  • Head of Corporate at Eferton Group, an international investment firm in Africa.

In 2017, Jean-Michel joined Vivo Mauritius as Head of Finance, where he built a strong finance team that supported business expansion. His expertise later led him to Vivo Energy Ghana, where he replicated his success in driving growth and operational excellence.

His passing leaves a significant void, but his contributions to the industry and his leadership legacy will be remembered for years to come.
