President John Mahama has reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to tackling corruption and safeguarding public funds.
Speaking at the Jubilee House on Monday, he warned that Ghana would no longer be a safe haven for corrupt activities and vowed that those found guilty would face the full force of the law.
His remarks came after receiving the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee report, which details cases of financial mismanagement and fraud.
“For anyone who believes they can engage in corruption and evade justice, let this serve as a strong warning—Ghana will no longer tolerate such acts,” Mahama stated firmly.
He assured Ghanaians that his government remains a strong ally of those who promote accountability and uphold integrity.
“To those who value accountability and the rule of law, this government stands with you. We are committed to building a nation where honesty and hard work are duly rewarded,” he emphasized.
Describing the committee’s findings as a crucial milestone in Ghana’s anti-corruption fight, Mahama called for collective action from all sectors of society to ensure lasting reforms.
“This is just the beginning. We will carefully examine the report’s recommendations and take decisive action. This is a defining moment in our fight against corruption, and every Ghanaian—be it the media, civil society organizations, or ordinary citizens—must play a role in ensuring a more transparent and prosperous future for our nation,” he urged.
He also commended the ORAL Committee for its dedication and diligence in carrying out its mandate.
