Appiah-Kubi Baidoo Resigns from NPP Over Alleged Years of Abuse and Neglect
Appiah-Kubi Baidoo, a former parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Sefwi Akontombra Constituency, has officially resigned from the party, citing long-standing mistreatment by some party insiders.
In a strongly worded resignation letter dated April 16, 2025, addressed to the constituency chairman, Baidoo said his decision to cut ties with the NPP comes after enduring years of unfair treatment directed at him and his family by unnamed individuals within the party’s structure.
“This decision has not come lightly, but it is necessary. The persistent abuse, isolation, and lack of support have made it clear that my loyalty and sacrifices mean very little to some within the NPP,” he wrote.
Baidoo, who once carried the party’s hopes in the constituency, expressed disappointment over how his contributions had been overlooked and undermined, despite his continued efforts to promote unity and progress within the NPP.
“It’s a matter of principle”
While he withheld the identities of those responsible for his grievances, Baidoo emphasized that the situation had become unbearable and that his resignation was based on principle and personal dignity.
He thanked his supporters and constituents who stood by him throughout his political journey and hinted at future plans to continue serving his community, albeit outside the NPP framework.
His resignation comes at a time when internal divisions and dissatisfaction are simmering in various constituencies ahead of the 2026 elections—a development that could have ripple effects on party unity and grassroots mobilization.
